About

George Dhauw is an Antwerp-based sound designer, composer, and interdisciplinary artist with a deep focus on the intersection of sound, space, and digital technology. Active since 2017, his work spans theater, sound installations, and museum spaces, where he investigates themes such as silence, spatial dynamics, and rhythm within both text and movement. George’s practice seamlessly merges sound design and music with technological innovation.

With a background in collaborating on international theater projects, George has worked alongside renowned directors like Ivo van Hove, contributing to works such as La Ménagerie de Verre in Paris and Who Killed My Father at The Young Vic in London. His soundscapes are recognized for their ability to emotionally amplify performances while maintaining a delicate balance between text and visual elements.

George’s ongoing research project, Urban Resonance, explores the relationship between sound, movement, and mental health. This work integrates wearable technology and sensor-based textiles, creating interactive installations that invite audiences to engage physically and emotionally. George’s goal is to bring attention to mental health issues through innovative and accessible artistic expressions.

As a freelance artist, George collaborates across Europe, from theaters to galleries, contributing to a wide range of creative projects. His art delves into the realms of silence and noise, offering audiences a sensory journey that goes beyond traditional auditory experiences.
